Herencia hosts the Closing Gala of the XIII Popular BTT Circuit of the Diputación de Ciudad Real.

This Saturday, the town hosted the Closing Gala of the XIII Popular BTT Circuit organized by the Ciudad Real Provincial Council, marking the end of a season characterized by high participation and impressive athletic performance.

During the ceremony, trophies were awarded to the winners across various categories, alongside recognitions for the municipalities that hosted the events and the collaborating businesses, including several from Herencia. The Circuit’s organizers expressed gratitude to the municipality for choosing Herencia for the closing event, highlighting the significant contributions of clubs, volunteers, and sponsors throughout the season.

The event was attended by Sergio García-Navas, mayor of Herencia; Serafín Tajuelo, councilor for Sports; and José Manuel Aragonés, councilor of the municipality, along with María Jesús Pelayo, provincial deputy, and members of the local council and the organizing team of the Circuit.

A special mention was given to José Ángel Fernández-Montes, a cyclist from the Amigos del Plato Grande club and a coach at the Municipal Sports Schools cycling program, who received a heartfelt surprise from his students while accepting his trophy.

With this gala, Herencia reaffirmed its status as a meeting point for provincial sports, strengthening its connection to grassroots cycling and showcasing a circuit that combines sports promotion, community engagement, and the visibility of host towns. Both the organization and the municipality agreed on the goal of continuing to promote events that encourage healthy habits and attract sports and social activities to the town.
