Civil Protection of Herencia brings CPR and first aid awareness to primary school students.

The Civil Protection Group of Herencia continues its volunteer programs in the municipality’s educational centers. Last week, it was the turn of students from 1st and 2nd grade, who received basic training on how to respond in an emergency. Recently, sessions have expanded to include 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, featuring CPR practices and various first aid exercises led by volunteer staff.

In the classrooms, children are introduced to essential concepts such as when and how to call 112, the PAS conduct (Protect, Alert, Assist), age-appropriate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and a basic introduction to the semi-automatic defibrillator (AED). The training is always demonstrated with educational materials.

Civil Protection emphasizes that the goal is to instill preventive and self-protection habits from an early age, as well as to overcome the fear of helping while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Herencia has expressed gratitude for the work of the volunteers and the collaboration of educational centers, which make this practical training available to hundreds of local schoolchildren. The programs will continue in the coming weeks with new groups and practical reinforcements.
