The Youth Area of the City Council of Herencia has opened registrations for a cooking workshop aimed at young people from 1st year of ESO to 2nd year of Bachillerato, with two groups in November and December and a fee of 10 euros. The idea came from a young person in the municipality, who submitted it to the “Boost your idea” call from the Local Youth Council.

An idea that comes from young people themselves
“Boost your idea” is the call through which the Local Youth Council invites young people from Herencia to propose activities. This workshop is the project chosen in the 2026 edition, proposed by a young person from Herencia, and is now being launched by the Youth Area.
The goal is for participants to learn the basics to fend for themselves in the kitchen, gain autonomy, prepare different dishes, and learn the keys to a healthy and balanced diet.
With a nutrition session
In addition to the practical cooking part, the workshop includes an informative session on nutrition and diet in collaboration with the Herencia Health Center. Each group has four hour and a half sessions, on Monday and Thursday afternoons, at the Training and Employment Center.
Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To sign up, you must go to the Youth Area, at the Youth Center on Avenida de la Encarnación, call 663 744 782, or email [email protected]. This is not the first time that cooking has been used as an excuse to learn in Herencia: a few weeks ago, the III Family Cooking Contest was also held.
