The Commonwealth of Comsermancha Services, representing 21 municipalities in the provinces of Ciudad Real, Cuenca, and Toledo, is calling on citizens to focus on recycling paper, cardboard, and plastic generated during the Night of the Three Wise Men. This celebration, although full of excitement and joy, is also responsible for a considerable increase in waste production, especially paper and cardboard packaging and plastic from toys.
Recycling, a Simple yet Impactful Action
Recycling is not only a simple action, but it also has a great positive impact on the environment. By recycling, we help reduce pollution, the use of natural resources, and greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, we promote the circular economy, where waste is transformed into new useful products.
The Commonwealth of Comsermancha Services thanks citizens who already practice recycling and encourages those who do not yet to incorporate this habit into their daily lives. The collaboration of everyone is essential to make our region a cleaner and more sustainable place.
Tips for Effective Recycling
To facilitate the recycling process and ensure its efficiency, the Commonwealth recommends:
- Properly separate paper, cardboard, and plastic from other waste, depositing them in the blue and yellow containers, respectively.
- Fold or crush paper and cardboard to optimize space in the containers and facilitate their subsequent processing.
- Avoid depositing dirty, wet, or greasy paper or cardboard, as well as removing non-recyclable items such as ribbons and bows before their disposal.
- Clean plastic containers before depositing them in the yellow container and avoid including non-recyclable objects or containers of hazardous products.
- Reduce the consumption of non-ecological materials, opting for sustainable alternatives whenever possible.
Responsible Management of Christmas Decorations
After the end of the festivities, Christmas decorations such as trees, lights, and poinsettia flowers should be responsibly managed. Natural trees can go to the recycling center or, if small, to the organic waste container. Artificial trees should be deposited in the gray container and lights should be taken to the recycling center.
This collective effort for effective recycling after the Night of the Three Wise Men is a vital step towards a more sustainable future. The Commonwealth of Comsermancha Services urges everyone to join in this commitment to our planet, turning the festivities into an opportunity to care for our environment.
