The Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception hosted one of the most emotional events on the Holy Week calendar in Herencia this Holy Tuesday, featuring the Polifonic Choir of Alcázar de San Juan, which brought voice and solemnity to a night defined by reflection and tradition.
The musical group accompanied the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial in its traditional act of brotherhood, performing a sacred repertoire that filled the church and was particularly well-received by those in attendance. Music once again became an essential element of the Herencian Holy Week, reinforcing the liturgical nature of the event and the connection between faith and cultural heritage. Representatives from the local government were also present during the celebration.
After the mass, the presentation of the poster for the penitential station of the Brotherhood took place, featuring artwork by local artist Joaquín Díaz Pavón, shared with the brotherhood members and the gathered public.
The event concluded with one of the most symbolic moments of the day: the traditional transfer and foot-kissing of the reclining Christ image, a gesture filled with respect and devotion that gathers many faithful each year.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial for the execution of the event and to the Polifonic Choir for their sensitivity and dedication. This performance is part of the collaboration between the City Council and the Diputación de Ciudad Real, which makes it possible to incorporate music and culture into significant moments of the local Holy Week.
