Herencia once again became a reference point for mountain biking enthusiasts last Sunday with the celebration of a race in the XIV Circuit BTT of the Ciudad Real Provincial Council, organized by the CDE Amigos del Plato Grande in collaboration with the Herencia Town Hall, through the Municipal Sports Service.
The day began with the starting signal given by Sports Councilor Serafín Tajuelo. The event attracted around 100 participants, who navigated through the streets and landscapes of the municipality on a circuit specially designed for the occasion. The organization team highlighted the essential work of the Amigos del Plato Grande club, which plays a crucial role in ensuring that such sporting events remain part of the local calendar.
After the race, the trophy presentation was attended by Mayor Sergio García-Navas, Sports Councilor Serafín Tajuelo, and Councilwoman María Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco, along with Ismael Gómez, president of the organizing club, and other members of the organization.
The Town Hall expressed gratitude not only to Amigos del Plato Grande but also to all the groups and individuals who contributed to the smooth running of the event: Local Police, Civil Protection, Red Cross, motorcyclists, photographers, and especially the volunteers who assisted with intersections and critical points along the route.
Finally, the organization sent a supportive message to Antonio Aranda, a local resident and member of Amigos del Plato Grande, wishing him a swift recovery following an injury sustained during the race.
