Herencia launches a new PIME course to support students.

The Herencia Town Council has launched a new course of the Municipal Educational Integration Plan (PIME), a free resource aimed at students who need additional support, guidance, and accompaniment during their studies. The program begins its activity coinciding with the start of the 2026/2027 school year.

The PIME team will work in coordination with educational centers, families, and the students themselves. The main objective is to prevent and address situations that may hinder the academic and personal development of young people, with attention adapted to the needs of each student.

The program is not limited to reinforcing school content. An important part of its activity is related to aspects that directly influence how to approach studies and the difficulties that may arise throughout the educational stage.

Among the areas that PIME works on are study habits and techniques, organization, motivation, and autonomy. Personal accompaniment to students is also included in these elements.

In this way, the municipal program seeks to provide tools that allow young people to face academic and personal difficulties that may arise during the course.

To do this, PIME maintains coordination with the different agents that are part of the educational community. Collaboration with centers and families allows for close monitoring of the students’ needs and to offer a response adapted to each situation.

The Mayor of Herencia and responsible for the Education area, Sergio García-Navas, has highlighted the importance of maintaining this type of municipal resources for young people and their families.

“To invest in education is to invest in the future of our young people and our municipality,” García-Navas said, who has defended the need to “be close to students and their families when they need it most.”

The mayor also emphasized that the program’s function goes beyond strictly academic issues. “PIME is not only a space for academic support, it is also a place for accompaniment, listening, and guidance. We want no young person to be left behind due to lack of support or opportunities,” he said.

Career guidance and psychological counseling for young people in Herencia

The Municipal Educational Integration Plan is complemented by the Youth Counseling Service in Herencia. This service has a Professional Office for Career and Psychological Counseling aimed at providing other resources to the young people of the municipality.

Its activity is aimed at helping them find training and employment that suits their interests. The initiative also aims to provide tools for young people to develop their professional future in Herencia and have the opportunity to stay in the municipality.

In this way, the Town Council combines accompaniment during the educational stage with resources related to personal, educational, and career guidance.

The launch of a new course of the PIME allows continuity during the 2026/2027 period to a service that addresses both academic needs and other factors that may influence the students’ development.

The program starts with individualized attention, considering that difficulties and needs may be different in each case. Work on motivation, autonomy, or organizational skills is thus incorporated into educational reinforcement and personal monitoring.

With the start of the new course, both PIME and the Professional Office for Career and Psychological Counseling remain available as free municipal tools for the young people and families of Herencia. Two resources with which the Town Council maintains its commitment to education, prevention of difficulties, and accompaniment during different educational and professional stages.
