Herencia will celebrate a new edition of its Pride programming from June 28 to July 4, this year under the slogan Pride of Herencia. The agenda is more extensive, participatory, and advocacy-driven. The Town Hall presented the events during a gathering featuring the mayor, Sergio García-Navas; the Councilor for Equality, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana; this year’s announcers, Ismael Gómez-Calcerrada and Matteo Paroni; and Koali, a representative of the Plural Association.
The programming once again places respect, equality, and diversity at the center of a week designed to combine cultural, educational, and community activities. This year, it will also be supported for the first time by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, which the municipality interprets as recognition for the work done in Herencia over the past few years, allowing for a more ambitious proposal.
A week of cultural and advocacy events
Events will kick off on Sunday, June 28, starting at 8:30 PM at the Town Hall, with the raising of the flag and the reading of the manifesto. Following this, a Safe Space will be inaugurated, designed as an information point to address questions and needs related to the community.

The programming will continue on Tuesday, June 30, at the Youth Center with the screening of the short film (No) Body. Throughout the week, an acoustic concert by Alicia Portillo, diversity workshops, fun activities at the Municipal Pool, and the inauguration of the exhibition “They Watch Us” are also planned.
The program has been prepared in collaboration with the PLURAL Association, the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersex, and more, FELGTBI+, with regional backing. This collaboration strengthens the community-focused nature of a celebration that goes beyond a single festive day, aiming to create spaces for meeting, participation, and reflection.
A proclamation with a Herencia accent
One of the most anticipated moments will be the proclamation, delivered this year by the Herencia couple, Ismael Gómez-Calcerrada and Matteo Paroni. Along with their young daughter Alma, they will voice an edition marked by closeness and the advocacy of living life in freedom and respect.
The choice of announcers adds an especially emotional component to the programming. Their presence symbolizes the importance of having recognizable local role models, which is crucial in celebrations aimed at breaking prejudices and normalizing diverse family realities.
The grand Pride night will also feature performances by Noa Drag, a concert by Christian Coto, and entertainment from Axonsou, Lady Tupé, and DJ Isaac Romero. The Plaza de España will be one of the central spaces for a celebration that aims to bring together residents and visitors around an open and diverse program.
Municipal commitment against prejudice
The Councilor for Equality, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, expressed gratitude for the commitment of associations, groups, and individuals who have collaborated with the department to make the program possible. “This Pride is a project built collaboratively, involving those who believe in an open, respectful, and welcoming community with spaces for meeting and visibility that help combat prejudice and hate speech,” he remarked during the presentation.
The Herencia Town Hall reiterated its commitment to equality and encourages citizens to participate in the events. The programming aims to offer a festive celebration while maintaining the advocacy spirit of Pride, especially in a context where local governments play a crucial role in promoting coexistence and respect.
Herencia thus again dedicates a week to diversity, with an agenda that combines culture, education, leisure, and social participation. Collaboration between institutions, associations, and citizens will be key to this edition, which aims to establish the Pride of Herencia as an essential, open, and welcoming event in the municipal calendar.
