Municipal Sports Service has announced the schedule for the 2024 Sports Christmas, which will take place from December 13th to 31st with a wide range of activities designed for all ages. In collaboration with local clubs and associations, this initiative aims to promote sports, community, and solidarity during the holiday season.
A diverse and traditional program:
The opening event will be the 3rd Intercenter 3×3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, December 13th, where categories such as children, youth, cadets, and juniors will meet at the Municipal Sports Center. The schedule will continue with the traditional Christmas Rhythmic Gymnastics Gala on December 21st, and various sports activities such as basketball, handball, football, and karate, which will be the core of these sports festivities.
Activities for the whole family:
On December 27th, the Municipal Sports Center will be transformed into an amusement park with inflatable castles, Yellow Humor games, and giant circuits, ideal for family enjoyment. Additionally, on December 30th, the “La Inmaculada” Scout Group will organize a day of Popular Games, while the eagerly awaited Herenciana San Silvestre will close the program on December 31st. This race, which includes a 300-meter children’s version and a 2-kilometer adult version, is a solidarity event that brings together hundreds of participants each year.
Sport and solidarity, hand in hand:
This year’s schedule maintains its focus on solidarity, allocating funds raised in various activities to social causes. Among them, collaboration with Afanion and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) stands out. For example, the “Playing Handball” activity, which will take place on December 23rd, will donate its registrations to the AECC.
Promoting local sports:
The Sports Councilor has emphasized that this program not only promotes physical activity and the values of sports but also encourages citizen participation and the Christmas spirit. “These Sports Christmas are an opportunity to unite the entire Herencia community around sports, solidarity, and celebration,” he stated.

Registrations for activities can be made through educational centers or at the Municipal Sports Service office. In addition, most events are free, and some include a symbolic registration fee aimed at solidarity purposes.
