Last weekend, Herencia became the epicenter of national girls’ youth handball, hosting the National Sector that culminated today with a gift-giving ceremony to the six participating teams. The event, which started last Thursday, has been a showcase of emerging talent in women’s handball.
The local team achieved an exciting victory in the third-place match, demonstrating not only skill and determination, but also the potential that Herencia has to offer in this sport. “Congratulations to our champions for their performance and for bringing the bronze home,” proudly expressed the local Handball Club.
The organization of the event was made possible thanks to the collaboration of multiple entities and volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The Herencia Handball Club, the Regional Federation, the Provincial Council, as well as coaches, family members, and other volunteers, played a crucial role in the success of the tournament.
During the championship days, the presence and support of the Local Police and Red Cross were also acknowledged, ensuring the safety and well-being of all attendees. The refereeing team also received special recognition for their excellent work throughout the event.

“We want to thank all the participating teams and their fans, we hope they take a pleasant memory of Herencia and wish them the best in their future sports challenges,” the organizers commented. The teams of BM Gijón, BM Granollers, Mail Boxes Zaraut, Smurfit Kappa BM Córdoba, and 3com Squad Valsequillo showed a high level of competitiveness, contributing to the sportsmanship and camaraderie that characterized the tournament.
With this event, Herencia has not only demonstrated its ability to host high-level competitions but also its commitment to promoting sports, particularly women’s handball, ensuring a promising future for it in the locality.
