Hogueras, hot chocolate, street fair, and breadcrumbs.

The neighborhood of San Antón is hosting the first — and most early — neighborhood festival of the municipality this weekend. Organized by the San Antón and Santa Lucía Neighborhood Association in collaboration with the Herencia City Council, the celebration features a program that blends tradition, festive atmosphere, and community gathering.

In addition to religious events, the main event will take place this Saturday with a bonfire and hot chocolate, followed by a dance. On Sunday, after the main service and procession, there will be a community tasting event.

Summary of the Program

  • XXIII Photography Contest
Theme: Animals. Prizes: 300 € (as detailed in a separate program).
  • Saturday 17, 20:00 hBonfire and Grand Hot Chocolate.
Followed by a dancing party with Onda Pirata (activity included in the agreement with the local council).
  • Sunday 18, 13:30 hTasting of migas manchegas and Spanish wine near the chapel.

The local council is also providing logistical support to ensure the events go smoothly, helping to “bring life to the neighborhoods” and promote community living.

Make a note and mark your calendar: this weekend, San Antón will once again be a gathering place to celebrate and honor the saint as a community.
