The Popular University of Herencia is once again offering its program Youth Computer Skills this summer, an educational initiative that teaches digital skills to young children during July and August. The training takes place at the Training Center in the municipality under the guidance of instructor Mari Carmen Tajuelo, who helps students learn digital skills tailored to their age. Course content includes fundamental topics such as file management using USB devices, typing exercises to improve speed and accuracy, and the initial steps in Scratch, the visual programming platform used in schools worldwide to introduce computational thinking.
The program also emphasizes the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools, a topic that is gaining importance in education. The approach aims to familiarize students with these technologies and teach them how to use them as aids in learning and everyday computer tasks.
