The IES Hermógenes Rodríguez of Herencia shines in the V Intercampus Robotics Competition of UCLM.

Innovation and youth talent from Herencia have once again stood out at the regional level. The IES Hermógenes Rodríguez de Herencia has obtained four podiums in different categories during the final phase of the V Intercampus Robotics Competition of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), held last June at the Albacete Campus.

This event, established as one of the educational benchmarks in the field of technology and robotics in Castilla-La Mancha, brought together nearly 200 secondary and high school students from 41 educational institutions in the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real, and Cuenca. A total of 88 teams participated throughout all phases.

Herencia, among the best in all categories

The teams from IES Hermógenes Rodríguez managed to reach the podium in all the main categories:

• ? Second place in Sumo Robots with Lego Mindstorms
• ? Second place in Tracker Robots with Arduino
• ? Second place in Automation with Arduino and Tinkercad
• ? First place in the Open Design category for Tracker Robots with Arduino

With these results, the Herencian institute establishes itself as one of the centers with the greatest technological projection in the region, demonstrating the preparation of its students and the involvement of teachers in cutting-edge educational projects.

An appointment with the future of technology

The final event took place in the Multidisciplinary Building of the Albacete Campus and featured an innovative format: in addition to the main competitions, the teams participated in an on-site hackathon, where they had to solve programming and robotic design challenges in real time, adapting their solutions on the fly.

The competition is organized by the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Albacete, the one in Ciudad Real, and the Polytechnic School of Cuenca, in collaboration with teachers from educational institutions across the region.
