The nomination period for the Honor Perlés of the Herencia Carnival 2026 is now open.

The Herencia City Council has launched the call for the Perlés de Honor 2026, awards that recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the cultural, social, and economic life of the municipality. Any resident, group, or entity can submit nominations.

Categories

• Socio-Cultural: individuals or initiatives with cultural/educational impact and local, regional, or national relevance.
• Associative-Humanitarian: dedicated paths in solidarity and community service.
• Socio-Laboral: businesses, cooperatives, or professionals recognized for their contributions to the development of Herencia.
• Perlé “Jesús Carnavales”: groups or individuals embodying the spirit of Carnival and its continuous improvement.
• Perlé Institutional: designated by the Local Government Board.

Timeline

• Submission of nominations: until Thursday, January 29.
• Public voting (online via municipal channels): from February 1 to 9.
• Final weighting: 60% from the technical jury + 40% from citizen votes.
• Award ceremony: Friday, February 13, 2026, during the inaugural gala of Carnival (National Tourist Interest Event).

How to submit a nomination (steps)

1. Fill out the official form with the candidate’s information and a clear, concise merit statement.
2. Register it through the Electronic Headquarters or in the City Hall Registry (administrative hours).
3. If appropriate, attach supporting documentation (links, clippings, certificates, etc.).

Main conditions (summary)

• Nominations must adhere to the guidelines; the award may be declared void if there are insufficient merits.
• Awards are not given posthumously or to serving political officials.
• A previously awarded Perlé may be repeated in a different category; in the same category, 10 years must pass and notable evolution must be demonstrated.
• The technical jury will verify merits and select finalists by category prior to public voting.
