The Our Lady of Solitude Tournament celebrates its 14th edition with Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF, and the Toni Kroos Academy as prominent guests.

Herencia once again embraces football. Next Saturday, May 30, the José María Fernández de la Puebla field will host a new edition of one of the most established grassroots football tournaments in Castilla-La Mancha: the Nuestra Señora de la Soledad Tournament, now in its fourteenth year and full of notable participants.

The official lineup for this event has been announced and does not disappoint. In addition to the benjamin and alevin teams from the Municipal Sports Schools of Herencia, who are the traditional hosts, this year will see well-known national clubs like Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF, and the Toni Kroos Academy participate. These teams will be joined by prestigious local clubs such as CD Quintanar del Rey, CD Manchego, CD Malagón, CF La Solana, and EFB La Gineta, as well as closer teams like EFB Tomelloso, the Villarta de San Juan Town Hall, and EMF Villafranca.

The day will kick off at 9:00 AM and continue until 9:30 PM, with matches in the benjamin (8-a-side football) and alevin (7-a-side football) categories. This promises to be a marathon of school-age football that, once again, will make Herencia a meeting point for families, coaches, and grassroots sports enthusiasts.

The tournament is organized by the Brotherhood of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, the Herencia Town Hall through its Municipal Sports Service, and Herencia CF, with the support of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, the Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation, and the Provincial Council.

The official presentation took place this Monday at the Ermita de San Bartolomé, where Mayor Sergio García-Navas welcomed Pablo Burillo, president of the Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation, and Luis García-Morato, head of the Sports Service of the Ciudad Real delegation of the JCCM. Members of the boards of the Brotherhood and Herencia CF were also present, key players in organizing the event.

García-Navas publicly acknowledged their efforts: “This sporting event would not be possible without the work of these groups and the support of all the companies that contribute year after year to sponsor this great tournament, which has become a regional reference.”

This tournament was born out of the community’s passion for football and continues to grow fourteen years later.
