Sergio García-Navas and María Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco are interested in the production of organic grapes and new varieties in the campaign at the San José Cooperative.
During the grape harvesting season, the Mayor of Herencia, Sergio García-Navas, and the Councilor of Rural Development, María Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco, visited the facilities of the San José Cooperative a few days ago. Also present during the meeting were the president of the cooperative, Eusebio Fernández-Montes, and the winemaker Juan Cutillas, who shared with the authorities the progress of the wine campaign.
This year’s grape harvest, marked by the early collection of new varieties of white grapes, has reached its peak. One of the highlights of the visit was the increase in the harvest of organic grapes, which is becoming a more appreciated option by both viticulturists and consumers.
Additionally, during the tour, they were able to taste the first productions of the season, among which the renowned wine ‘Matujo’ stands out, which has been a success in previous years. As a novelty, the cooperative has announced that this year the ‘Matujo’ will also be produced in its rosé version, thereby expanding the range of wines from the winery.
The visit served to emphasize the importance of the wine sector in the local economy and the commitment to quality and innovation that characterizes the San José Cooperative.
