Youth Week under the slogan “The revolution continues, and you are part of the change” - Herencia (Ciudad Real) Spain

Youth Week under the slogan “The revolution continues, and you are part of the change”

From July 11 to 20, the town of Herencia will host the second edition of its Youth Week under the slogan “The revolution continues, and you are part of the change”. This event will feature a comprehensive and diverse program of activities designed by and for young people.

Organized by the Local Youth Council, which began its journey last April, the event kicks off on Friday, July 11, with one of the highlights: the XXI Story Marathon and Arts Fair at the Municipal Park. This event will include participation from oral storytellers like Primigenius and handcrafted stalls, creating a night of culture and community that will last until dawn.

Dynamic Programming for All Tastes

The offerings for young people don’t stop there. Throughout the week, various events will cater to all preferences and ages, including creative, sports, musical, and recreational initiatives. Highlights include:

  • “TikTokeando Herencia” Contest, running until July 11, where participants can showcase their favorite spots in the town through TikTok videos.
  • Saturday, July 12: “The Coolest Night” – a night party at the municipal pool featuring inflatables and a DJ starting at 10:00 PM.
  • Sunday, July 13: Concert by the group Venus Astra at Plaza de España, at 9:30 PM.

During the week of July 14 to 18, urban art will take center stage with the Mural Painting Workshop “Artists”, where the façade of the Youth Center will be transformed with a collective artwork under the theme “Youth, Future, and Opportunities”.

Additionally, on Monday, July 14, a Self-Defense Workshop will be offered in two sessions to accommodate various schedules.

Movies, Karaoke, and an Alien Escape Room

Film lovers will enjoy a screening of “El 47”, an award-winning film, on the big screen on Wednesday, July 16, offering immersive sound that promises to be one of the main attractions.

On Thursday, July 17, music returns with the interactive activity “Herencia Sings”, an open karaoke for young people of all ages in the park, where the TikTokeando contest prizes will also be awarded.

For thrill-seekers, a major new addition this year, an Urban Escape Room “Alien Invasion”, will transform the town of Herencia into a large game of wit and speed on Friday, July 18.

Concerts and Comedy to Close the Week

Youth Week will conclude on Saturday, July 19, with a tribute concert to Leiva and Pereza by the group Los Lobos at 10:00 PM in Plaza de España. On Sunday, July 20, there will be two comedy shows featuring Gacha’s Comedy with performances by Fran Pati and the duo Eva y Qué.

Participation and Trust in Young Talent

The Youth Councilor, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, emphasized the importance of having the Local Youth Council as a space for active participation this year. “Thanks to the proposals gathered in the Council, we have been able to design a program that truly responds to the interests of our youth,” he stated.

For full programming details, activity registrations, and schedules, you can visit the official Youth Week site on the municipal website. The youth revolution is already underway in Herencia.
