The Women’s Center announces the VI Plastic Arts Competition “In the Key of Women” 2026.

The Women’s Center of Herencia has announced the call for the VI Plastic Arts Competition “In the Key of WomanES”, in honor of the March 8th, International Women’s Day. Participation is open to everyone, regardless of nationality or artistic inclination.

Theme

The artwork must represent women of all ages and diverse attitudes.

Format and Accepted Techniques

• Two-dimensional and original works (not previously submitted or awarded in other competitions).
• Accepted techniques include painting, collage, textile, graphic and printed images, among other related techniques.
• Framed dimensions must be between 50 × 50 × 7 cm and 120 × 120 × 7 cm.
• Works should be submitted under a pseudonym, framed or on canvas, ready to hang (with hooks or similar), and properly packaged.

Submission and Documentation

• One entry per participant.
• Along with the artwork, a sealed envelope with contact details (phone number, postal address, and email) should be provided, with only the pseudonym and contest title on the outside.

Deadline and Submission Location

• By February 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
• Centro de la Mujer de Herencia (Casa de Herencia, Plaza de la Virgen, 1).

Exhibition and Results

• All submitted works will be exhibited in the courtyard of Casa de Herencia for two months following the announcement of results.
• Non-awarded works may be put up for sale during the exhibition (pricing will be established upon submission).
• The jury’s decision will be announced on February 27 at 12:00 PM through municipal channels and directly to the winner.

Prize and Ownership

• Single prize: 600 €.
• The awarded work will become the property of the Honorable City Council of Herencia.

Jury

The jury will consist of art professionals who do not submit work. The technical staff of the Women’s Center will not be part of the jury. The decision will be final and participation implies full acceptance of the rules.
