The historical courtyards of the town are opening their doors.

On October 12th, the residents and visitors of the town will have a unique opportunity to delve into the history and architectural heritage of the municipality. On a special day, the most emblematic houses, some more than two centuries old, will open their doors to reveal the secrets of their courtyards and inner spaces. The activity, which has already become a tradition, is promoted by the Tourism Department with the aim of highlighting the cultural and heritage richness of the town.

Two routes to discover the past
In this new edition, the organizers have prepared two distinct routes, allowing for greater diversity in visits and a more complete experience. The first route, which will take place at 5:30 pm, has been organized in previous occasions and offers a tour of three historical courtyards:

– Calle de Colón, 3: A courtyard from the 18th century that reflects the typical architecture of the time.
– Calle Carrasco Alcalde, 13: Another example from the 18th century, known for its preservation and authenticity.
– Calle Tahona, 8: A more modern construction, dating back to 1920, but equally significant within the local historical context.

The second route will start at 7:30 pm and will allow the visit to three other courtyards, this time with an important novelty:

– Casa de Herencia: This property replaces Casa de la Merced, which is undergoing renovations to become a future guesthouse.
– Calle Colón, 48: An architectural example from the 19th century, full of history and charm.
– Calle Lope de Vega, 26: A more recent courtyard, built in the 20th century, showcasing the evolution of architectural style in the town.

Accessible tickets for everyone
The sale of tickets for these routes will begin on Monday, October 7th from 10:00 am. Tickets can be purchased at the Digital Inclusion Point at the Municipal Library, where assistance will be provided for ticket purchase from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Help can also be requested by calling 661 990 450 and scheduling an appointment for personalized support.

Theatricalized routes and upcoming dates
One of the most special features of these visits is their theatricalization, which allows attendees to live an immersive experience in local history. Lasting approximately one hour, the routes not only showcase the architectural beauty but also allow visitors to learn about the life and customs of past eras through live performances.

The City Council has confirmed that, due to the success of these activities, new dates are already planned for December 6th, coinciding with Constitution Day, and May 1st, 2025, Labor Day, both national holidays. These events will provide more opportunities for those who cannot attend the October edition.

A joint effort to preserve heritage
The organization of these visits is possible thanks to the agreements established between the Tourism Department and the owners of historical houses. The City Council has held various meetings with the owners of these buildings, reaching agreements that allow the opening of the courtyards several times a year. To ensure the conservation and maintenance of these spaces, an economic aid has been agreed upon for the owners, promoting the enjoyment and preservation of local heritage.

This initiative aims not only to value the architecture of the town but also to bring citizens and visitors closer to a past that often remains hidden behind the walls of these centuries-old houses.

The day of October 12th promises to be a unique encounter with the history and architectural heritage of the municipality. Through its courtyards, visitors can travel through centuries of history and discover the essence of a town that continues to keep its most emblematic corners alive. An unmissable opportunity for those who want to enjoy local culture in a different and enriching format.
