The City Council is promoting a new plan for paving and repairing roads to improve safety and mobility.

The Town Hall has launched a new plan for the repair and improvement of the road surface on various streets and paths in the municipality. This initiative aims to address damage caused by traffic and weather conditions, thereby enhancing road safety and improving mobility for both pedestrians and drivers.

Work has already begun on Cuatro Caminos and Cervantes streets, as well as at the intersection of Capas Street with the Camuñas road and along the Pedriza path. The project involves an investment of €38,066 funded by the Provincial Council and also includes planned improvements on the Bachilleras path, which were recently announced.

Mayor Sergio García-Navas visited part of the works alongside municipal architect Adoración Gallego and representatives from the awarding company, OPMJ.

The planned works include resurfacing, pothole repairs, the application of hot asphalt, and the replacement of horizontal signage, all aimed at improving the condition of road infrastructure both in the urban area and rural access points.

During the visit, García-Navas emphasized the importance of community collaboration in identifying issues and establishing action priorities, allowing for quicker interventions in the most deteriorated areas and optimizing municipal resources.

“The goal is to ensure proper conditions for safety, accessibility, and traffic flow in both the urban center and rural surroundings, responding to community requests and the gradual wear of road infrastructure,” stated the mayor.
